Your quotes and contracts stay with your team.

Chat, shared documents and video calls for your team. Your phones and laptops encrypt everything before it is sent, so not even we can read it.

A working day on the Brenner quote.

The discussion, the draft contract, a quick call and the questions to Vela all happen in one channel, and only the team can read it.

Agree on the quote in the channel

Bojan asks Sandis in the channel, and the answer appears right below the question. A thumbs-up counts as an okay.

Write the contract together

Robert edits section 7 and Bojan sees the change at once. Every version is kept, and outside your team the text exists only in encrypted form.

Sort it out in a quick call

When typing takes too long, start a huddle, a quick video call right in the channel. Sound and picture go straight from device to device, and nothing is recorded.

Vela sums up the day

Anyone who joins later reads Vela’s summary first. Every statement links to the message or document it came from.

18:05

Ask Vela out loud

On the way home, Bojan asks Vela what is still open. The phone itself turns speech into text, and Vela answers with sources from the channel.

  • Each person’s key stays on their own devices, so only the people in the channel can read along.

You can see who can’t read along yet.

Ines from accounting just joined #angebot-brenner and hasn’t finished setting up. Until then, Ines can’t open new messages, and everyone in the channel can see that.

For your IT: how the server check works

Before Vela gets a key, its server has to pass a check.

Vela runs on confidential servers in the EU. Before your workspace releases a key, the server has to prove which software it runs.

  1. The server reportsThe processor signs a measurement of the loaded software plus a fresh number from your workspace, so an old report can’t be replayed.
  2. Your workspace comparesThe measurement has to match the value pinned in your workspace. If one character differs, no key is released.
  3. A key for a few hoursVela gets a short-lived key for the channels where it is on. The permanent key stays with you.
  4. Then the check starts overWhen the key expires or the server restarts, Vela is unavailable until the server passes the check again.

What teams ask before they start.

Short answers about your data and Vela.

What happens if I lose my laptop or phone?

Sign in on the new device and enter your passphrase, the extra password you chose during setup. Then your messages are back. In the meantime, you or your admin can sign the lost device out. Without the passphrase nobody can restore your messages, not even us.

What can your server see?

Who is in which channel, who was mentioned, when something was sent and how big it is. Messages, documents and files arrive encrypted, so we can’t read them. Sound and picture in calls go directly between the participants’ devices. See a stored message

How do I know who really wrote a message?

Every message is signed on the sender’s device. The app checks the signature and shows who wrote the message and that nobody changed it on the way. Messages without a signature are flagged.

How can I be sure I’m writing to the right person?

Each person’s key has a fingerprint, a short code. Read your codes to each other over the phone. If they match, you are writing to the right person.

How can Vela read encrypted messages?

Vela has its own key, like a team member, and only receives messages from channels where you switch it on. Its server gets that key for a few hours at a time, and only after proving which software it runs. How the check works

Does Vela keep our data or learn from it?

No. Vela’s server keeps the key and your decrypted content only in working memory and keeps no log of your questions. Your content is never used to train AI.

Can new colleagues read older messages?

No. Each message is encrypted for the people who are in the channel when it is sent. Someone who joins later can read everything from the moment their own setup is done.

What do we need to run it ourselves?

Your IT needs a Linux server with Docker Compose and a domain with HTTPS. Everything else comes in the package: database, sign-in, file storage and a virus scanner.

Try Volentris Hub on your next quote.

Setup takes five minutes. Then invite two colleagues to a channel.
